1930s Vertex half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is stamped Vertex Revue, 15 jewels, Swiss made and the calibre number 31. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50.6mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. This case has blue Roman numerals to the front cover. The case has minor surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition. The inner back covers have some light surface marking. The back cover has a presentation for 40 years service from the East Midlands Gas Board.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. The inner lens is acrylic and is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial is signed Vertex and is in nice condition

The watch has blued steel hands designed so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed … with conventional hands, it would be impossible to tell which hand was which through the small lens.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
