A Handsome Barnard Family Silver 'Fishing Reel' Inkwell

A handsome Edwardian novelty silver inkwell in the shape of a fishing reel. This appealing piece has a large flat base with a banded border, which is repeated to the body and rim. The lid is hinged and finished with a ball knop. There are five pen or quill apertures and the inkwell is fitted with a glass liner. This superior example was made by the great Barnard Family and has the added benefit of being retailed by Rossi of Norwich, giving East Anglian interest. A great piece of Edwardian desk ware or gift idea for a fishing enthusiast. Dimensions below.
