Antique Period George III Mahogany Tambour Top Desk

18th century
Description

A stunning antique George III period roll top writing desk in solid mahogany. This was made in England & I would date it to around the 1790’s period.

This is of extremely fine quality and is a very useful item. The tambour top rolls back to reveal a gorgeous slide out work area, with a locking mechanism. The felt tilt top writing slope has an adjustable angle with original sharks teeth supports. There are various small drawers inside and two deep drawers under the top, all with extremely fine dovetails. The brass handles are all fine quality and this sits on lovely brass casters.

This has had some very minor restoration over the years, we obtained it in excellent condition and have just given it a fresh wax polish.
