Victorian Sea Coast Stick Barometer Wright & Co Westminster

Description

A good quality Victorian mercury 'sea coast' stick barometer. A heavy oak case with a domed pediment with shaped mouldings. An original vernier scale adjuster and original turn knobs below either side. The original cistern cover. A mercury thermometer and bevelled glass. Twin dials with weather predictions and 27 to 31" and a large bore mercury tube. Retailed by Wright & Co, Westminster, London. Circa 1860.

These examples were often seen in glass cases in sea side resorts, some still survive to this day.
