Coin Collectors Cabinet Rare Book Design Victorian Oak & Walnut C1870

Here we have a unique Victorian coin collectors cabinet in the form of a leather book c1870. As you can see the cabinet has great colour and patina. This wonderful cabinet has room for approx 300 coins. The side binding is removable and has a working lock and key. It is finished in such away that it would fit well amongst leather bound books on a shelf. The binding is cleverly carved with VOl and COINS in a slightly naive way to represent the leather. The front however is crisply carved with interlocking letters to make the word COINS. The inside reveals 9 trays all with original bone handles and hand routed holes for coins. This exceptional rare cabinet is in great retail condition and ready for your collection. The dimensions are approx 35 cm high 11 cm 25 cm wide.
