Description

A really stylish Victorian cut crystal biscuit box or barrel in an very unusual rectangular shape. The box is deeply cut all over with the ever-popular hobnail design, this is a hefty piece of glass.

The collar swing hand and lid are all made from period silver plate and the lid engraved with a classic design with Pineapple inspired motif in the corners. The lid is topped with a handsome carved Ivory knob.

Dating to around 1860, the box remains in excellent condition, measuring 6 1/4" tall to top of knob and 9 1/2" to top of swing handle x 3 1/2" deep.
