Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Each is approximately 2mm diameter, it's hard to be precise about a carat weight as each is a unique cut.

Fully hallmarked for 18-carat gold, Birmingham 1889-90 and bearing the sponsor's mark L&L.
In excellent antique condition.
Size P (UK), 7.5 (US). The face of the ring measures 6mm and it sits approx 4mm above the finger. The comfortable D-shaped shank is 3mm wide at the back, rising to 4mm at the front with lovely scroll-carved shoulders framing the diamond cluster.
