Description

A fabulous late 17th century enclosed dresser base ,consisting of five geometric drawers in a T-shaped formation with the bottom one being a false drawer and a pair of cupboards either side. The drawers have heavy mouldings which make up wonderful geometric designs and the doors being more simply refined with a fielded panels. All drawers and doors retain their original turned knobs and brass escutcheons, the brass hinges on the doors are however later replacements as this is a common feature with dressers and cupboards of this period.

The dresser has had some minor restorations , some of the back panels have been replaced and probably during the 19th century., commensurate with age.

Overall this is a superb piece of 17th century English furniture with a wonderful rich patina, and it is in excellent condition.
