Exceptional Art Deco Solid Silver Photo Frame by Turner & Simpson Birmingham, 1929

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a superb large size Art Deco sterling silver photograph frame. At a little under 10 inches high, it is very striking, elegant and very much of its era. Dated Birmingham 1929 it bears the marks of the prolific silversmiths Turner & Simpson. Of arched rectangular form, the wide silver frame with fine engine-turned decorations. The arched upper section with a vacant rectangular reserve. Raised on unusual and rather charming angular feet.

Light oak back and easel.

Hallmarks:

T&S for Turner & Simpson.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "E" for 1929.

Condition:

Excellent.
