This lovely antique mantel clock has a gilt bronze case. The top of the case is shaped with a gilt bronze figure of a soldier. The clock then has a moulding to the top leading to the square body of the case.
The base then has a further “leaf” patterned moulding leading to the square base. Finally the case is finished by four shaped feet with the front feet having a lion head and paw design.

The dial is then silvered and set out in black Roman numerals with small dots marking the minutes. The centre of the dial then has a scrolling design which is both gilt and silvered. The dial then has a bevelled glass set into a brass bezel as well as two lovely shaped hands. The dial is then signed by the famous retailers “RUSSELS LIVERPOOL”.

The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It comes complete with its pendulum and winding key and is ticking away and chiming as it should. The moment chimes the number of hours on the hour as well as once on the half past via a gong. Finally the movement is stamped “A B 868 15 5”.
