Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock Circa 1775

Description

Fine George III Scottish figured cuban mahogany longcase clock with 8 day striking movement by John Hamilton of Glasgow. Has superb engraved brass and silvered dial. The case in very fine condition with spiral columns to hood and blind fret decoration. Similar quarter columns to trunk. The movement has just been fully overhauled and is in full working order. Lovely deep rich colour to case with fine waxed patina. A fine example of a Glasgow clock by a very good maker.

Size; 85" high overall, 21" wide at hood, 10" deep
