19th Century Antique Oak Dome Top Trunk

A large and impressive 19th century antique oak dome top trunk. This substantial oak trunk has a wonderful domed top with iron strap hinges that opens to reveal a spacious interior with a candle box to the right-hand side. There are decorative iron drop handles to either side and exposed dovetail joints to the corners. The antique oak dome top trunk is raised on a moulded plinth base. A rather wonderful example.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including some age-related marks and staining to the top and front (pictured). The antique oak dome top trunk remains structurally solid and sound. The hinges and handles appear original. Good colour and patina throughout. Overall, a rather wonderful example.
