Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Instead of her helmet which lies with a sword by her feet she wears a crown of thorns, eyes closed and hands clasped in prayer. Retaining the original painted finish to the face and hands plus some elements of the armour and the base. Clearly signed by Mercié in the cast on the side of the base. Raised on a veined marble plinth. The sword is a little bent toward the tip, otherwise excellent condition.
Dimensions: height 26", width 9", depth 7½".
