Description

Superb gilded brass statue of winged Victory or the Greek goddess Nike c.1900. Standing 27½" tall. Beautifully cast as a Classical figure with large wings, reaching out to bestow a laurel wreath, symbol of victory and honor. Superb quality, note the fine detail to the costume, face and wings with a mellow gilt finish. On a brass orb and simple pink marble plinth. Unmarked but of a form produced as Grand Tour souvenirs by the celebrated Italian foundary Chiurazzi of Naples. Excellent condition.
