A concave and convex pediment above the scale from 27 to 31 inches. Signed 'W & S Jones, London' to the finely engraved silvered dial. A vernier slide adjuster with the original set knob. Canted corners to the cistern with a Georgian stripe inlay. Circa 1795.

William & Samuel Jones are recorded in Banfields' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1788. They are noted as 'important instrument makers' and the sons followed in the business.
