Fine Two-door Cupboard/bookcase

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Waterfall Antiques

A very fine example of a 19th century mahogany general storage cupboard. The two doors – each having a single recessed rectangular panel – open to reveal a useful interior having two adjustable-height shelves. It retains its original sprung latch & turned knob handle, which keep both doors securely shut. The plain plinth base and all of the backing boards are original. It can be used as a console table in a hallway, a drinks cabinet, a storage cupboard, or a bookcase. This beautiful cabinet – of simple, understated design – is English, c.1880.
