Mike Melody Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
Dating from around 1730 this is a most unusual piece of antique country house furniture.
Called a mule chest ,because it combines a chest/coffer with drawers hence it is a hybrid.
It is in superb condition with burr walnut panels ,see pictures and herringbone banding. It is also finished on the sides with the same burr walnut panels.
A great colour and so usable
In many areas .
