Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Rococo Revival porcelain features asymmetrical curves, shell motifs (rocaille), scrolling foliage, and allegorical figures such as cherubs or putti. Popularised during the 19th century across Europe, it drew inspiration from 18th-century French court tastes, emphasising playful themes and delicate pastel colour palettes.

These pieces were created using slip-casting or press-moulding fine porcelain clay. Sculpted elements like cherubs were cast separately and attached using liquid slip before initial firing, after which multi-coloured enamel pigments and hand-applied liquid gold gilding were applied in subsequent firings.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit crisp hand-moulded detail, hand-painted enamel decoration, and fine gilding showing age-appropriate wear. Collectors should examine the underside for impressed or hand-painted makers marks, incised shape numbers, and characteristic glaze pooling in the Rococo scrollwork base.

Place the centrepiece as a focal point on a dark wood sideboard, marble mantelpiece, or glass coffee table to contrast modern minimalism with historical ornamentation. It can function as an elegant decorative display or be left empty to showcase the sculpted details and pastel tones.

Dust gently using a soft, natural-bristle camel hair brush to avoid snagging delicate fingertips or wings. For deeper cleaning, wipe sparingly with a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals or prolonged immersion which can damage overglaze gilding.
