Description

NEW PRICE - WAS �1695. I am delighted to offer this stunning antique porcelain dessert service hand painted with the most gorgeous rose specimens. Made by Minton around 1876 judging from the date codes, with each plate and comport painted with a different rose spray on a pale mint green ground. There are two comports and five matching plates with an extra slightly smaller matched plate with a different gilt border pattern to the others. Each plate measures 24cm in diameter with the matched plate measuring 23cm. The comports each measure 24cm in diameter and 7cm tall. There are no chips, crazing or repairs/restorations - there are scattered spots of discolouration confined to one plate in particular and one comport. The same comport has a one inch hairline in from the edge at the 2 o'clock position. There are a few knife marks scattered throughout but this lovely dessert set looks only lightly used if at all. The gilding to each piece is bright and intact and features a Greek key pattern. Wonderful display pieces.
