English ''Lund & Hipkins'' Closed Barrel
 
Rare 1855 ''London Rack'' Barrel Patent.
 
As per the patent, there are two notched inclines at the top of the barrel that engage with a pin on the stem,
 
giving greater mechanical advantage to start the cork before the rack and pinion is used.
 
Good mechanical action.
 
Patinated bronze / brass barrel.
 
Good tapered wire helix.
 
Original turned rosewood handle with brush.
 
All in very good sound condition.
