19th Century French Porcelain-mounted Mantel Clock

Description

A very good porcelain-mounted French Mantel clock, with bowed hand-painted porcelain side panels (charming birds on a predominantly pink background) and a further hand-painted front panel under the dial. It has an ornate gilt-brass base with adjustable feet, gilt-brass finials to the top, surmounted by a hand-painted urn with gilt-brass flame topper and ornate handles to either side.

The 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell with slow/fast adjustment above the XII. The white enamel dial has Roman numerals and blued steel 'trident' hands. Serial No: 24744. Full working order. Complete with pendulum and key.
