A stunning, fine and impressive antique 3.82 carat natural ruby and sapphire, 0.60 carat diamond and natural pearl, 9 carat yellow gold and silver set brooch; part of our antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections
This impressive antique pendant/brooch has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold with silver settings.
The pendant brooch has been modelled in the form of a butterfly.
The pierced decorated forewings are embellished with three cushion cut natural rubies, yellow gold set to the outer margins.
The shaped basals of the forewings, and shaped sub margins of the hindwings are also gold set, ornamented with individually set cushion and round faceted cut natural blue sapphires.
The wings have a pierced decorated form embellished with a total of twenty-four, silver set Old Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes.
The butterfly's thorax is accented with a claw set round faceted cut ruby, surmounted with two fine and impressive round faceted cut rubies represent the eyes.
The abdomen displays three impressive claw set natural pearls, graduating in size.
The pendant suspends from a contemporary 9ct yellow gold 18" curb chain via two integrated ring loops, modelled in the form of antennae.
The pendant may also be worn as a brooch, via a hinged pin and C shaped clasp fastening to the reverse of the setting.
This impressive antique butterfly pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 carat gold and silver.
This stunning example of Victorian jewellery is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
Such brooches are typically set with sythetic rubies; it is a sign of high quality for this type of brooch to contain natural rubnies.
Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
This impressive gold butterfly brooch is exceptional quality, set with stunning rubies and sapphires displaying fine colour, brilliance and presence.
The well colour matched diamonds display a fine white colour and brilliance.
The natural pearls feature fine colour and lustre. The brooch is an exceptional gauge of gold and in exceptional condition.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this impressive antique butterfly pendant necklace.
