Early C19th late George III period miniature mahogany bow-front chest of drawers.
Miniature scale apprentice piece or perhaps sales-man’s sample mahogany chest of 2 long and 2 short drawers . Raised on swept bracket style feet with a shaped apron. The front top edge with a banded frieze and with ‘barbers-pole’ chequered string line inlay .
The drawers fitted with their original miniature brass ‘axe-head’ style drawer pulls and brass key escutcheons . The drawers lined with a mixture of finely-cut thin mahogany and oak , the underside of the carcass of traditional blocked construction.
The bow-front outline top with an excellent original colour and patina with no splits or damage.
An interesting and collectible skilfully-made Georgian period scale model , which could be used as a trinket or jewellery chest .
In excellent original condition with a consistent rich colour and patination .
