M Lees and Sons has dated this Queen Anne Walnut Armchair to the 1920s.
. The traditional balloon-shaped seat with a drop-in upholstered cushion , raised on boldly shaped cabriole fore-legs onto pad feet . The rear cabriole shaped legs with a stylish angled rake, the arms of shaped and swept ‘shepherds crook’ design.

The shaped back splat with an applied cross-grain moulded surround, enclosing a skilfully executed hand-painted panel depicting a classical campana-shaped vase with a vibrantly coloured arrangement of flowers. The oil painting with an ‘apple-green’ background. The top rail of shaped outline .

The reverse of the central back-splat of the armchair , painted with a corresponding handpainted panel of vase and flower decoration .
In excellent original condition with a a good mellow period-style patina and colour. The painted panels with an aged surface imitating period style paintwork .
