Description

The warm rich tones of this elegant 'Serapi' carpet, woven in the Heriz district of North West Persia are as attractive today as they were over a hundred years ago when it was first born. Possibly even nicer, as it takes time to produce patina and for the rich natural dyes to blossom.

An orangey red ground supports a classic medallion within rich navy blue main border. The geometric, stylised floral forms in the field, distract the eye in pleasant diversion.

Good to low pile allover with some small amounts of foundation showing here and there. Strong and ready for the floor.
