A First World War Novelty Silver 'Shell' Vesta

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb and rather rare example for the vesta collector. This fine piece is formed to represent an ammunition shell and has ribbed detail and a 'coned' lid. There is a deep striker to the base and an attaching ring to the side for fob chain or chatelaine. An interesting example and a good collector's piece. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Very good, with no serious dents and no splits. The hinge is strong and the lid closes well.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Registration mark of RD650744.
