A superb jewellery or collectors figured mahogany and finely inlaid safe cabinet. The rectangular shaped top having 2 lines of boxwood stringing and moulded edge above the cross banded and beaded frieze. The single door having a fine ivorine and fruitwood inlaid panel with reeded and canted corners. Below are 2 drawers with conforming inlay, applied mouldings, dovetail joints and decorative brass pulls.The original green painted iron safe having a brass label for “Samuel Withers & Co.Ltd. of West Bromwich, Registered Trade Mark" and slogan “Without Which None are Genuine” and retains the original brass handle and lock plate with key. The safe opens to reveal the original grey painted interior with a shelf and brass handled drawer. A very fine safe cabinet in wonderful original condition.
