18th.c. Fruitwood Bread Hutch C.1780.

Description

Late 18th.c. food cupboard or bread hutch c.1780. A good example of the form with solid fruitwood frame and scores of turned spindles to the front and sides. With a small door in the front and a single slatted shelf inside. The large iron hooks on the rear allowed it to be secured high on a wall out of the reach of pests (and children!) from where it could be brought to the table at mealtime. Excellent colour and condition with one replacement spindle. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
