Description

Tabriz is one of the cities of East Azarbaijan province in Iran and the carpet texture of this city has a long history. During the reign of King (Shah Ismail) and King (Shah Tahmasb) , the city of Tabriz became one of the largest centers of art, including carpet weaving. Shah Tahmaseb had a great interest in carpet and promoted it as an art. Also, with the establishment of large carpet weaving workshops, first-class weavers gathered in Tabriz and obtained valuable patterns.
During the Qajar period, carpet weaving gradually gained new life. Towards the end of this period, the sudden increase in European demand for Iranian carpets led to the revival of Iranian carpets and the provision of mass production everywhere. Foreign companies from the United Kingdom, the United States and the United States were also encouraged to invest and produce in Iranian carpets, and some of the most important and exquisite carpets were woven.
Meanwhile, many producers started their activities in Tabriz. Haj Jalili can be mentioned as one of the most influential people. Haj Jalili was the most famous producer of handmade rugs in Tabriz. He continued to work from the early 1880s until the end of the same century. His large workshop included designers, dye masters and skilled weavers. Haj Jalili carpets are known in the antique market for their color, design and high quality textures and had a special place.
