Original Printed Floral Bamboo Four Fold Screen C1910

1900 - 1920
Description

This enchanting FOUR FOLD SCREEN, dating from circa 1910, is covered on both sides with a fabulous printed cotton.

Two designs of large flowers, the red one of which looks very much like a form of Wisteria, are set against a background of bamboo poles, bringing together The Orient and the English Countryside.

It is in overall good condition. There are three splits to the fabric on two panels (both on the back of the Screen) which are shown in the close-up photographs. Great care has been taken by the Upholsterer to create an overall balanced design by skilfully matching the patterns.

It is original throughout.
