Superb Art Nouveau Silver & Glass Scent Bottle

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A truly wonderful Edwardian silver and glass Scent Bottle. The design is iconic art nouveau, the beauteous pattern of the silver engraving so synonymous with the Nouveau period with flowing curvy shapes, and plant embellishments including berries and flowers, all adorning a heavy glass base. The silver lid of the scent bottle is hinged on the back and opens to reveal the original heavy glass stopper. The slightly curved edges of the lid typify the Nouveau style. Hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1901, Lion Passant and silver maker''s mark: John Grinsell & Sons.

A stunning Scent bottle, where all of the design features culminate in superb whole. It looks fabulous and it feels fabulous to hold. It is also in great condition.
