N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The sides and back of the clock are then ebonised which emphasises the colour of the front fantastically. The case then has an ormolu mount to the top with further mounts to the sides including small angels. The clock then has a fretwork panel backed with silk and surrounded by a further ormolu mount. Finally there is a further shaped mount to the bottom, as well as four beautiful shaped brass feet.

The dial is the brass and set out in enamel panels set out in blue roman numerals. The centre of the brass dial is then patterned as well as the minutes being laid out around the outside. Finally the dial is finished by two shaped, blue steel fingers as well as a domed and bevelled glass set into a brass bezel.

The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away as it should and chimes both the number of hours on the hour as well as one strike on the half past via a bell. The movement comes complete with its pendulum and key and is stamped by the maker “C & S”.

4” / 10cm Deep.
