Antique Thomas Russell full hunter pocket watch 1920s.

Thomas Russell & Son was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

In 1881 the company started importing movements from Switzerland, such as the one we have in this particular watch, a stem-winding 10-jewel movement which is working well. The movement is fully signed. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51.3mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marking from use and a couple of tiny “dings” but overall it is in nice condition for a 1920s piece.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.

The signed double sunk dial is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
