N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This lovely single fuse mantel clock has a mahogany case with a wonderful rich colour. The top of the case is a pagoda style which sets it off beautifully. This leads to the square body of the case which has inlet carving to the front corners.
The dial is then silvered and set out if black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside setting out the minutes. The dial is then covered by a bevelled glass in a brass bezel. Finally the dial is finished by two lovely shaped hands.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away and comes complete with its regulating pendulum, winding key, and original travel nut. The movement is of the upmost quality being a single chain fusee example.
It measures approximately:
13” / 33cm Tall.
9.25” / 23.5cm Wide.
5.75” / 14.5cm Deep.
