N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The front of the case is then inlaid with lovely brass, scrolling boulle work with a floral theme to the centre. The front and base of the case then features an array of shaped brass ormolu mounts which set it off beautifully. Finally the case has four lovely shaped brass feet to each corner of the base.
The dial is then painted and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The dial then has a patterned brass surround as well as a bevelled glass set into a beaded brass bezel. The centre of the dial is then signed by the maker “VIEYRES & REPINGTON PARIS”. Finally the dial has two lovely, shaped fingers.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. The clock ticks away as it should and comes complete with its pendulum and winding key. The clock then strikes once on the half past as well as the number of hours on the hour via a bell. Finally the movement is signed, as the dial is, by the maker “ VIEYRES E REPINGTON PARIS”.

6.75” / 17cm Wide.
4.5” / 11.5cm Deep.
