Description

A George III period mahogany cellarette for bottles of wine, port, brandy and similar dating to c1810.

This piece is elegant and petite with pleasing dimensions. It has an inlaid oval panel on the lid and also on the front in fine mahogany veneers - the front being fiddle pattern. The lid is crossbanded and line inlaid with boxwood. The oval panels are also line inlaid on the edge to heighten their effect.

The cellarette stands on square tapering legs with original castors. The lid opens to reveal two bottle compartments and a larger storage space.

The condition is very good for the age. The cellarette has been carefully repolished.
