Antique Longines pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a gilded 15-jewel stem-winding movement, Longines 18.69N, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Longines name and the serial number 3,709,706 dates it back to 1918. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratches from where it has been opened in the past.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and it is in good condition, just some slight unevenness to the hinged case back. The inside of the case back has the Longines logo together with the initials EFCo for Ernest Francillon, the founder of Longines.

The watch glass is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has Breguet style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There is a faint hairline which starts just under number 10 but it is quite tricky to see with the naked eye.

The watch comes with a single chain, 31cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
