Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Established in 1751, Royal Worcester became famous for its high-grade bone china, elaborate gilding, and hand-painted scenery. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, master artists were employed to paint specialized subjects, including pastoral landscapes and wildlife, onto fine ceramic vessels.

These items were crafted from fine porcelain or bone china, fired at high temperatures, and hand-painted with ceramic enamels before receiving a final firing. Accent detailing was achieved using liquid gold or gold leaf gilding, which was hand-applied and burnished to create a bright finish.

Authenticity is verified using printed or impressed factory marks on the underside, often incorporating a date code system of dots, letters, or symbols. Painted pieces by noted artists frequently bear tiny hand-written signatures near the base of the painted scene.

A decorative porcelain urn works as a focal anchor on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or console table. Pairing the vessel with muted modern backdrops or minimalist foliage allows the detailed hand-painted panel and gilded finish to stand out.

Dust gently with a clean, soft microfibre cloth or dry brush to avoid scratching the painted surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners, chemicals, or soaking in water, as moisture and harsh detergents can strip original gilding and damage delicate finials.
