This 19thc. walnut bureau bookcase was made in the late19th century to order.

It was not a mass-produced item and would have been commissioned to this specification.

Formerly it was treasured by the family who for generations owned Great Brampton House (when it was a family home, before being sold for later commercial uses)

This19thc. walnut bureau bookcase is of the most delightful size, and wonderful on the eye.

The bureau bookcase is made in 2 sections, which allows easy transportation to and around your home.

The glazed top section with a single door that encloses shelves and a pair of drawers.

The base section fitted the sloping front that opens to reveal the baize writing surface and the stepped interior with pigeonholes and drawers.
