Very Large French Gilt Overmantel or Over Mantle Mirror

The over mantel as it name implies was made to sit over the mantel piece and as so many fireplaces are opposite the window Mirrors were used to reflect more light into the room

The Old Gold frame is 5” wide this is a very tall piece with age darkened gilt frame the looking glass has sparkle and a very little foxing

This is a very heavy piece and it has a solid wooden back, it is in good condition for its age with some old repairs

The Mirror is 68” high, 52” wide
