A Fabulous Pair of 18th Century Silver Condiment Boats

A fabulous pair of silver condiment tubs, dating from the 18th Century. These fine items have boat shaped bodies with twin reeded handles in the 'Adams' style. The raised pedestal base is also reeded in harmony with the handles and the interiors are lightly gilded. The original use would have been for salt but due to the good capacity, the tubs lend themselves to a variety of table uses, such as mint sauce, cranberry, mayonnaise or parmesan. Beautiful pieces, collectable, practical and decorative. Dimensions below.
