Atropos Antiques has dated this Victorian Painted Collectors Cabinet to the 1870s.

The following inscription on the inside of the door is testament to part of it's history.

Trenchard picard-cambridge was born in 1894, muree punjab india and died in 1940 in hailsham.
The cabinet has twelve well made drawers all with glazed tops and ebony knobs. The fronts are finished in 'faux' rosewood and the cabinet itself is painted with a superb aged khaki finish. This type of painted furniture is very much in vogue now.

The cabinet has it's original working side lock and key and will lend itself to a multitude of collecting pursuits.
