Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The reverse is hand decorated with a delicate diamond and dot pattern.

In very good antique condition, there is a tiny hole hidden among the ivy leaves. The locket is a little fiddly to open but the hinge and clasp are in good working order and it snaps shut securely.
Unmarked, x-ray tested as 15-carat gold. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.
Size: 2.5cm (1 inch) x 2cm x 0.5cm. 3.3cm total drop.
Weight: 4.3g.
The chain in the photographs is not included.
