Pair Wall Lights with Thistles and Crown

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa early 20thC a pair of unusual brass wall lights that were probably for candles originally.

They may be connected with Scotland hence the two thistles and a crown, and they have been very well made with attention to detail.

The two arms curve around the sides and hold torchere candle cups.

They measure 48cm in length, 27cm at the widest part and the candle holders are 18cm without the candle tubes and 27cm with them. The arms come out at a depth of 16cm from the backplate.

The lights have been polished but not rewired; they have been left in case the buyer wants to convert them back to candle holders, and the price reflects this. There are two purpose drill holes at the top and bottom for easy fixing to a wall.

Postage and packing within the UK mainland only is included in the price and for remote areas or abroad please contact us for a delivery quote.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
