Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A campaign clerks desk is a specialised piece of British military furniture designed in the 18th and 19th centuries for officers and administrative personnel on active service. Built to disassemble into two portable sections, these chests provided a sloped writing surface and drawer storage whilst enduring frequent transit.

Georgian campaign desks were primarily constructed from dense hardwoods such as mahogany or teak to resist tropical climates and warping. They feature heavy brass corner brackets, flush-mounted brass drawer pulls, and iron carrying handles designed to withstand rugged transportation.

Authentic George III campaign pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine drawer linings, original brass straps screwed flush into the timber, and a modular two-part construction with iron or brass side handles for lifting.

Position the desk as a focal point in a home office, library, or hallway alongside modern minimalist art and minimalist seating to contrast its dark timber and brass detailing.

Maintain mahogany campaign furniture by placing it away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage or fading, and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually with a soft cloth to nourish the wood finish.
