1930s Cortebert pocket watch.
Cortebert was founded in Cortebert, Switzerland in 1790 by Abraham-Louis Juillard although he did not officially register the name until 1855. Cortebert traded very successfully earning a reputation for manufacturing both high quality watches and movements. They also supplied railroad watches, where accuracy and reliability is paramount, for Turkey and Italy.
The company ceased trading in the 1970s, as did so many other mechanical watch manufacturers with the advent of the quartz era.
The watch has a signed seven jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel. The front is in good condition. The case back has a handful of indentations.
The acrylic lens is in lovely condition.
The dial is in very nice condition.
The watch come sin a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
