This is a very interesting, complete trapping, which I am unable to work out what it might have been made for! Made by Ersary Turkmen in the Middle Amu Darya region of Turkmenistan around 1870-1880, it is in very good overall condition and depicts a madder-red field of small 'chuval guls' or tribal crests - very unusual!

Any thoughts on its once possible use would be greatly appreciated.
