Description

A fabulous and rare pair of solid silver Georgian earrings likely dating from c.1820s. The centrepiece of each earring is a beautiful high-domed amethyst cabochon, with applied floral motif decoration. The framework is studded with white pastes, with additional pastes on the front of the ear wire at the top and dangling in a milgrain-edged drop below. The stones are set in enclosed backs, typically Georgian style, with a pretty floral dot pattern at the reverse of the amethysts.

In excellent antique condition.

Stamped 800 (silver grade).

Size: 5.5cm drop x 3.2cm. The amethyst is 1.5cm diameter.
