Description

Fine quality little Edwardian mahogany cylinder top bureau or writing desk c.1905. Open the top to reveal a pull out desk with original leather writing surface and a fitted interior of pigeon holes and small drawers. With a single larger drawer below the bureau. Gilded brass gallery to the top to make a useful shelf, with an ogee moulded edge repeated on front the desk surface and continued on the sides of the bureau. Inlaid stringing and satinwood crossbanded border to the fall and drawer front, also continued on the interior. Original gilded brass knobs and handles throughout. Slim tapering square legs, inlaid and raised on the original castors. Solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied for both the cylinder and the drawer.
