Description

A 19th century French Vernis Martin mantel clock of slim proportions. The original painted decorations to the case with ormolu mounts to the sides, base and tapered pediment. A gentleman and a lady in a country wooded scene to the front and floral decorations to the case sides. An enamel dial with raised Roman numeral edging and 5 minute outer markers with blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and half hours on a gong by Vincenti with the original numbered pendulum. Circa 1880.
